Iñaki Chávarri (b. 1982 in Madrid, Spain)
Lives and works in Bogotá, Colombi
Chávarri has a degree in Fine Arts from the Universidad Computense de Madrid and received a scholarship from SAIC (the School of the Art Institute of Chicago) to study the last year. He has made multiple residences abroad, among which have been Mino AIR (Japan), KulttuuriKauppila (Finland) and Flora ars + natura (Colombia). His practice is related to the idea of short circuit both in terms of collapsing system and mental disruption. He currently lives and works in Colombia, where his interest has moved towards evidencing fragility of our species and our knowledge structures. This is manifested in drawings and installations that are the result of an affective negotiation with the environment.
